Education and Sponsorship

Tumaini Huruma Children's Centre has launched a transformative Community Education Sponsorship Program in 2025, identifying and supporting 12 high-performing yet vulnerable students from Riamukurwe Primary and Secondary Schools. This initiative ensures that financial barriers no longer hinder academic excellence. In a remarkable milestone, four of the centre's own students—Mercy Wanja, Veronica Wambui, Dennis Gikonyo, and Zachary Irungu—have enrolled in universities and technical institutes, while recent graduates Samuel Mwai, Richard Murage, and Michael Ndirangu have proudly completed their degrees and diplomas.

Infrastructure & Sustainable Development

The centre has made significant strides in sustainable living with the successful installation of a biogas system, converting organic waste into clean cooking fuel to reduce energy costs and promote environmental health. Additionally, the new Huruma Piggery Project is now operational with two breeding sows and five piglets, marking the beginning of a self-sustaining income-generating venture. These initiatives complement the centre's three farms, which produced essential maize, vegetables, and milk to support both the home and reintegrated families throughout 2025.

Family Reintegration & Housing Milestone

In a heartwarming achievement, Tumaini Huruma successfully completed the construction of a permanent family home for Grace Wairimu and John Kiago, children who had been in the centre's care since 2012. The KES 234,575 project transformed a critically inadequate living situation into a safe, secure two-room house, complete with new beds and bedding. This milestone is part of a broader reintegration success, with 59 children reunified with their families through regular home visits, school transfers, and monthly support packages provided by the dedicated social work team.

Leadership Messages

Message from Our Parish Minister

"Receive Christian greetings in the name of our Lord. The winds of change continue to sweep across our continent, touching every sector of life. In the face of these challenges, our faith has been our anchor and our guide. The scripture reminds us that 'the people who know their God will display strength and take action' (Daniel 11:32). This year, we took decisive action—adapting our programs, launching new initiatives, and deepening our community roots to ensure our mission not only endures but thrives. We extend our deepest gratitude to our donors, prayer partners, and the P.C.E.A Riamukurwe Session. Your support is the bedrock upon which we build hope."
